Day 3 at Rainforest Falls: God Is Our Safe Place—Games & Activities That Build Trust

At Day 3 of Rainforest Falls VBS, kids discover that God is our safe place—always present, always strong, and always trustworthy. Today’s activities invite them to experience what it means to rely on someone else, work together, and find safety in God’s care.

Bible Point (Day 3): God is our Safe Place. (Wow, God!)
Key Verse (NLT): “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.” — Psalm 46:1

Trust-Building Game Ideas for Day 3

1. The Jungle Crossing

  • Setup: Create a “river” using a blue tarp or rope outline. Place stepping stones (paper plates, foam squares, or cardboard pieces) across it.
  • Objective: Kids work in pairs to cross the river—one blindfolded, the other giving directions.
  • Connection: Just as the blindfolded player must trust their guide, we can trust God to lead us through life’s challenges.

2. Safe Haven Tag

  • Setup: Mark several small “safe zones” with hula hoops or cones. One or two kids are “jungle danger” and try to tag others. Players are safe when standing in a safe zone for up to 10 seconds.
  • Connection: The safe zones remind kids that God is our refuge—a place where we can always run to for help.

3. Rescue the Buddy

  • Setup: Hide plush animals or paper “Bible Buddies” around the room. Kids work together to find and bring them to a central “safe place.”
  • Connection: God rescues us when we’re in trouble, just like the team rescues their buddies.

Activity Station Ideas
