Day 4 at Rainforest Falls: God Is Love—Crafts, Object Lessons

Day 4 of Rainforest Falls VBS is all about the incredible truth that God is love—a love that never ends and never fails. Kids will explore this through hands-on crafts, visual object lessons, and meaningful conversations that help them see God’s love in action.

Craft Ideas for Day 4

1. Love That Stretches Heart Garland

  • Supplies: Red and pink construction paper, scissors, tape or glue, markers.
  • Instructions: Kids cut out heart shapes, write examples of God’s love inside, and tape them together to form a garland.
  • Connection: Just as the garland connects heart to heart, God’s love connects us to Him and each other.

2. Anteater Spoon Puppet

  • Supplies: Wooden spoons, brown/tan felt, googly eyes, glue, markers.
  • Instructions: Kids decorate the spoon to look like Tia the Giant Anteater.
  • Connection: Tia’s long tongue reminds us that love reaches out—it’s active, seeking ways to help others.

Object Lesson: Love That Overflows

  • Setup: Place a clear glass in a baking tray. Slowly pour water into the glass until it overflows.
  • Connection: God’s love isn’t limited—He pours so much into us that it overflows to others.
  • Leader Tip: Invite kids to name ways they can show God’s love while the water is being poured.

Take-Home Activity

Give kids a small card with Psalm 136:1 (NLT) and space for them to write or draw one way they experienced God’s love that day. Encourage them to place it somewhere they’ll see every morning.
